Mid-Century Modern Furniture

Essential Home is a mid-century modern furniture brand whose pieces are handmade in Portugal. Its designs take historical and film references from the 1930s to the 1960s, from Hollywood life in the 1940s to the everyday objects and advertising of the period, and give them a contemporary twist.

Pieces can be specified in more than 1,000 textiles and materials, the colour of each detail can be chosen, and clients can send their own textile. Named pieces on the site include the Monocles sideboard, the Kelly bar chair and the Denis modular sofa, along with the Village collection, an outdoor collection, a collection made with Carlo Donati Studio and one with Studiopepe.

The brand works on residential and commercial projects around the world with interior designers.
